Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Policy

The Global Concerns Trust (GCT) is committed to the promotion of equality, diversity and inclusion, and eliminating unlawful discrimination. GCT operates as an anti-racist, feminist and disability-inclusive organisation, which recognises that equity means more than treating people in the same way, and instead requires measures which lead to equal opportunities and the accommodation of differences. This ethos is embedded throughout GCT’s work, including though our international partnerships and sustainable development projects.

GCT welcomes and positively encourages a wide diversity of people amongst our Trustees, Members, staff, volunteers and partners, and values the different perspectives and skills of those we work and partner with. We work to create positive working environments that value and make use of our differences for maximum organisational and societal benefit.

We treat everyone equally, irrespective of their race, ethnicity, age, sex, gender identity (including transgender), sexual orientation, marital/civil partnership status, political opinion, religion or belief, socio-economic backgrounds, work pattern and presence of dependents, disability or HIV/AIDS status, spent convictions, and trade union activity or membership.
