Enoce Chikapa is 22 years old and lives in rural Ntcheu district. Enoce had club feet. He recently underwent corrective surgery, facilitated by MACOHA, from which he is recovering really well. Enoce used to help his parents with farming, earning 3000mk per month. He took part in the carpentry training in Ntcheu, graduating in September 2021. Enoce did 12 months carpentry training, business training, reproductive health, gender awareness and HIV+AIDS prevention training. When he finished training, he was provided with a carpentry kit, some materials and a solar panel. Enoce now works as a carpenter in the workshop he has built outside the family home. He is the only carpenter in the area and is able to make 50,000mk per month by selling tables, doors and stools. With his increased income Enoce was able to buy a phone, make doors for the house, repair a bicycle and buy new clothes. Enoce now supports his parents and siblings, including 6 children. He has plans to grow his business and take on a trainee.
