Dola Haji is 45 years old and she lives just outside of Salima town. She is single and has 6 children. Dola’s legs are paralysed. She used to try to support herself and her children by making and selling fried chicken, making 8000mk per month. Dola took part in the tailoring training at KODO in 2020, learning how to make clothes and run a tailoring business. She also learnt about gender awareness, reproductive health, HIV + AIDS prevention and how to make organic manure. When she graduates from training Dola was given a sewing machine, some materials and a solar panel. She now works as a tailor, making and selling clothes in her area. Her income has increased by 85% and she has been able to buy household goods, chickens and ducks, using money saved from her business.
