Alisenio is 25 years old and lives with his wife and child in Chagunda village, rural Salima. Alisenio is paralysed after having an accident. He took part in the tailoring training at KODO, graduating in September 2019. As well as the tailoring training, Alisenio took part in business training, reproductive health, gender awareness and organic manure training. When he finished his training he was provided with a sewing machine, materials and a solar powered home energy system. Before he took part in the training Alisenio used to make a living repairing shoes and made 10,000mk per month. Alisenio now runs a tailoring business at his home and has an income of 80,000mk a month from selling his clothes and 18,000mk per month using his solar panel to charge mobile phones, an increase of income of 880%. His family have an increased income of 165%. With his increased income Alisenio has been able to buy cloth, food, furniture, mattresses and a cell phone. He is saving money to buy some land. Alisenio has also been able to produce organic manure, increasing his families’ yield and he has passed on this skill to another 10 households in his community.
